FIFTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

DEVELOPMENTS IN LANGUAGE THEORY

July 16-21, 2001

WIEN, AUSTRIA



The 5th Conference on Developments in Language Theory will take place at the Technische Universität Wien. Papers presenting original contributions in any area of language and automata theory are being sought. Simultaneous submissions of papers to any other conference that has proceedings are not allowed.

Topics of interest are (but are not limited to): grammars and acceptors for strings, graphs, arrays, etc.; efficient algorithms for languages; combinatorial and algebraic properties of languages; decision problems; relations to complexity theory, logic, picture description and analysis, DNA computing, cryptography, concurrency.

Submissions. Authors are invited to submit their paper (in English; up to 12 pages; if appropriate, proofs should be attached in an appendix) using the DLT submission webpage

Accepted papers will be published in the preproceedings. Copies of the preproceedings will be distributed at the conference.

Conference Proceedings will be published by Springer - Verlag in the series "Lecture Notes in Computer Sciences".

Location. The lectures will take place at the Technische Universität Wien, which is located in the City of Wien. Accomodation is available in hotels and dormitories nearby.

Wien, in the heart of Central Europe, is an old city whose historical rôle as the capital of a great empire and the residence of the Habsburgs is reflected in its architectural monuments, its famous art collections and its cultural life, in which music has always played an important part.
